| The Friends of Ilsley Library
is a non-profit organization working to extend the Library's services
and facilities. Organized in 1967, the Friends now number over
four hundred members. Funds raised by membership contributions
and Book Sales have provided nearly $20,000 in support in the
past year and a half. Their invaluable assistance has allowed
the library to host innovative programming, purchase and implement
new technology, develop staff competencies, assist low income
non-residents obtain borrowing privileges, initiate building improvements,
and countless other wonderful things. |

The Friends hold their book sale on the first
Saturday of every month in the Vermont Room on the second floor
of the library from 11 am to 3 pm. Don't miss out on Middlebury's
best kept secret for used books.
Donations for the book sale are accepted daily
by the library staff. Please, salable books only. No magazines
or encyclopedias will be accepted. |

The Friends are pleased to present monthly speakers,
free of charge, on the third Thursdays during September - November
and January - May. These speakers represent a wide range of interests
and are always entertaining. Unless otherwise noted, these events
take place in the Ilsley Library meeting room, with refreshments
served at 10:00 am and the speaker beginning at 10:30
