Sarah Partridge Community Library

Sarah Partridge Community Library in East Middlebury provides a collection of popular materials for children and adults. A computer with high-speed Internet and printer is also available in the Community House meeting room for use by the community. Local residents assist in planning library programs and events.

Sarah Partridge materials (books, videos, tapes, and CDs) are all searchable in Ilsley's online catalog.

Currently, Ilsley Public Library is managing Sarah Partridge Library. Residents of Middlebury and East Middlebury may use their cards at both Sarah Partridge and Ilsley. Adult cardholders who live outside the town limits of Middlebury may purchase an annual membership allowing borrowing privileges at both Ilsley Public Library and Sarah Partridge Library.

Sarah Partridge Community Library has been a part of the Community House since it opened in 1924. The house and library were gifts of the Partridge family in memory of their mother, Sarah, a longtime resident of East Middlebury. They operate under the aegis of the Fire District #1 Prudential Committee.

Mona Rogers is the librarian. The library is open Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The telephone number is 388-7588.
