Adult Summer Programs
Summer Reading for Youth
Our Tails and Tales summer reading program will run for 8 weeks, from June 13th - August 7th. Please register at the children’s desk, or email email@example.com. The reading program will once again use a calendar to track reading. As in previous years, kids will put a sticker on each day that they read. If children have at least 20 stickers on their calendar and have answered the question on the back, then they can turn in their calendar for prizes. The first calendar will run June 13th - July 10th and can be redeemed at Haymaker Buns in Middlebury for a free OG bun OR cookie of your choice AFTER July 10th. The second calendar will cover July 11th - August 7th and can be turned in at the library for $5 in Middlebury Money AFTER August 7th. Further details for redemption will be posted as the date approaches.
Ilsley Public Library will continue to offer take and make activities as part of our summer reading program: STEM activities, crafts, and sewing kits will be available for pick-up in the children’s room. One bag per child per week please! Information on the specific bags will be available in our monthly newsletter and online.
Books on Sticks will continue to be updated through August. Titles are swapped out every two weeks at each of our two locations: Waterfall Park by the Marbleworks, and Harrow Way in Buttolph Acres. Enjoy a great story while moving outdoors!
From June 22nd – July 29th Ilsley Public Library will be running 3 regular outdoor programs: Join Ms. Tricia for Book Bike Storytime and book giveaways on Thursdays at the free lunch program in front of the hockey rink/pool. Ms. Laura will host a BYO lunch storytime at Harold Curtiss park behind the Sarah Partridge library in East Middlebury on Tuesday afternoons. On Wednesday mornings Lynn will set up drop-in preschool garden art activities. Social distancing is required for all programs. Space in the garden is limited; please check in with us if you would like to attend with 5 or more children. Check our monthly newsletter or online calendar for times.
Thank you to Haymaker Buns and the Better Middlebury Partnership for co-sponsoring our summer reading program, to Mary Jane Simpson and Kris Andrews for putting together our STEM and sewing take-and-make bags, and to Marbleworks and the residents of Harrow Way for hosting our Books on Sticks.
Greetings to our wonderful library patrons! Welcome to Ilsley's Teen Summer Reading Program 2021.
