The Ilsley Public Library Board of Trustees have approved the following policies:

- Reallocating Expenditures in the Budget
- Request for Reconsideration of Materials
- Rules of Conduct
- Stewardship of Natural Environment
- Treatment of Gifts
The trustees’ Governance Committee reviews library policies every three years. Anyone wishing to propose a new policy or changes to an existing policy is welcome to attend a library board meeting.
In addition to the above policies, the Ilsley Public Library adheres to the Vermont State Statutes Title 22: Libraries, History, and Information Technology. The Ilsley Public Library upholds the American Library Association’s Freedom to Read Statement, Library Bill of Rights, and Code of Ethics.
