Ilsley 100 Project Capital Campaign

For 100 years, the Ilsley Public Library has enriched lives, strengthened community connections, and bolstered the vitality of downtown Middlebury. The Ilsley 100 Project is a major renovation and expansion of the library building. The capital campaign is a critical component of the funding plan and an opportunity for individuals and institutions to work together to secure a library building that will serve our community for generations to come. We hope you will join us.

In May of 2024, the residents of the Town of Middlebury passed a bond to support the library renovation. The total project cost is anticipated to be $17 million, and many funding sources will be needed to meet this goal and lower the tax burden. The Ilsley 100 Project Team set a capital campaign goal of $6 million, and on January 7, Dana Hart, Library Director, announced that the Ilsley Public Library had reached a total of $6 million dollars in charitable gifts and pledges.

The Isley Public Library continues to warmly welcome charitable gifts in order to further reduce the amount of publicly funded lending necessary for the project. We invite you to join us in supporting one of the most important institutions in our town. Every gift of every size helps realize our vision for accessible and equitable community enrichment!
