Ilsley books to be stored in the Little City

It looks like the vast majority of the Ilsley Public Library’s book collection will repose in Vergennes for around 17 months while the Ilsley’s historic headquarters at 75 Main St. in Middlebury is being renovated and expanded beginning early next year.
The Middlebury selectboard on Tuesday gave its unanimous nod to a proposed letter of intent between the shire town and Vermont Industrial Parks LLC to provide around 4,000 square feet at its 75 Meigs Road facility in Vergennes. This free space will house an estimated 35,000 books that need a safe, temporary and accessible home during construction.
