Olives and Oranges: Growing a Mafia-Free Sicily
A slideshow and talk with Grace Weber
Friday, February 12 at 7 p.m.

Anyone who watched "60 Minutes" on January 3, 2016, and saw the report on "Agromafia" learned that adulterated olive oil is three times more profitable for the Mafia than cocaine. Weybridge resident Grace Weber returned to Sicily in August 2015 to volunteer a second time for the anti-Mafia organization Libera Terra mentioned on that broadcast. She and many other volunteers worked lands in the fertile volcanic soil around Mount Etna, on a property that suffered heavy losses in a Mafia arson raid in 2012. Weber's experiences will be the subject of a slide show and talk.
