The Value and Challenges of Educating Girls in Afghanistan
Ian Lynch, Presenter
Tuesday, April 28, 5:30 p.m.
The present is an uncertain time for Afghanistan. As the United States reduces its involvement, 2015 will test the fragile gains won in the past 13 years. In his two stints teaching and administrating at SOLA (the nation's first and only girls' boarding school) Ian Lynch has observed close hand the complexities, achievements and barriers to education and development in Afghanistan.
Ian will strive to dispel several of the prevailing misperceptions of Afghanistan in the 21st century and offer a portrait of one of the most compelling keys to a bright future: School of Leadership, Afghanistan. Refreshments at 5:30 p.m.
